Ivan Guaderrama
“Vivid Heart Painting”
“Vivid Heart Painting”
The artist was born August 1984 in Cuauhtémoc,
Chihuahua, Mexico. He received his degree in Plastic Arts from Colorado Springs
Fine Arts Center. In 2005 he started using a technique called “Live Texture” in
which he combines acrylic paint, marble powder and resins. In 2010 he began a
new technique which he calls “Glass Expression”. It involves using a fusion of
resins, colors and effects on glass. Guaderrama showcases the love of the lord
through the hearts found in his artwork. Every heart painting represents either
a display of family or romantic love but no matter what the heart painting
represents a love that is enduring and everlasting. Most of Guaderramas
paintings also have a key symbolizing the one key we are all looking for to
unlock the true potential of our heart, a key that he claims can only be found in
the hands of Christ. Guaderramas
statement in this piece is that we can tell the content of a person’s heart by
simply listening to how and what a person speaks about. The painting is bright
and fluorescent. The colors blend into each other creating a whole. The background
is not of specific objects or colors but of a beige consistency. The emphasis
here is in the color of the heart painted. The bright colors represent love and
positivity. I chose this painting because it relates to love on all levels.
Love can be spiritual, family oriented, from a friendship or a significant
other. No matter what happiness to all of these things stem through your faith
in your creator. That is what I feel Guaderrama was trying to convey in this
painting.
